GFA Premier league…

Camptown defeated Wes-tern Tigers 1-0 while Police failed to show up for their match against Santos on Friday evening as the Georgetown Foot-ball Association (GFA) Premier League competition continued at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.

In what should have been the supporting fixture the Lawmen, who now seem destined for relegation, failed to show up giving Santos the victory by walkover.

In the Camptown/ Western Tigers encounter, a 43rd minute goal from Jevon Lindie turned out to be the game winner.

Camptown ended the competition with 18 points gained from five wins, three draws and six losses while Police ended the competition on five points.

Meanwhile the six matches in the GFA Coca Cola U-15 competition scheduled for today at the NIS ground have been postponed for next Sunday as a result of the Georgetown U-15 team’s involvement in the Georgetown Football federation (GFF) Inter-Association final against East Coast.

That match will take place this evening at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground and forms part of the official opening of the GFF season.

The 18 U-15 players and two officials selected are asked to be at the GFC ground from 1pm this afternoon for transportation to Linden while the GFA senior footballers are requested to be at the GFC ground for 3.30pm for transportation to Linden.
