Kala Ustav, the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s Festival of Art and one of the most eagerly awaited events on the local Hindu calender will be on at the Dharmic Sanskritik
Kendra in Prashad Nagar on November 25.
The preliminaries have already been held and candidates have been chosen, according to a statement from the Kendra. Kala Ustav allows youthful talent from various parts of the country to perform in singing, kirtan, classical and folk dancing, Hindi elocution, ramayan, chanting, harmonium and percussion instruments.
The Dharmic Sabha has emphasized that Kala Ustav keeps the varying art forms alive by bringing together young people at one forum to showcase and develop their talent. Participants are awarded trophies and cash prizes.
