According to media reports Shakoor Khan, 75, was on his way home from work.

He died from injuries he suffered when the postal service tractor rig clipped him in the crosswalk at Rockaway and Farmers Boulevards in Jamaica, New York.

The reports said detectives were reviewing surveillance videos from nearby businesses, in search of clues to identify the truck and driver involved in the accident.

Khan, who worked as a security guard at JF Kennedy Airport, had just finished his shift and was walking to catch a bus home when he was struck down, his family said.

“It is our custom to give our loved ones a hug and a kiss in case we don’t see them again,” said Khan’s brother-in-law, Abdul Karimbaksh, 48.

“I saw him last Friday and gave him a hug and a kiss.”
