Lawrence Drakes, the Merriman Mall businessman who was gunned down on Tuesday night as he attempted to escape from the two men who had come to abduct him, had been deported from the United States twice and one day after the brutal killing the police are yet to arrest a suspect.
The motive for the killing is still unknown and some of Drakes’ close friends are still baffled as to what might have led to his gruesome death.
Shortly before 8 pm gunmen opened fire on the 45-year-old Bel Air Road, Lamaha Gardens businessman in front of Bonny’s on Church Street during his bid to escape them and at the end of it all the man lay dead at the corner of the road while two persons who were in the supermarket sustained wounds from stray bullets.
