A 37-year-old man accused of carnally knowing a minor was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Terrence Sandiford of Lot 63 South Sophia Farming Area was not required to plead to the indictable charge of carnally knowing a girl under 15 years and was remanded to prison by Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
It is alleged that between April 1 and April 30 last year at Georgetown, he had carnal knowledge of the minor.
The accused told the court that he was beaten while at the police station. He was remanded and the magistrate transferred the matter to Court Six for January 31.
