‘Avo’ gets three years for recording studio break-in

Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on Wednesday sentenced a 37-year-old East Ruimveldt resident to three years imprisonment after he admitted breaking into a recording studio nearly two years ago and stealing over $1M in cameras and other articles.

Cecil Forde called `Avo’ of 741 East Ruimveldt pleaded guilty to a charge of break and enter and larceny when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

On July 13, 2006 at Georgetown, Forde broke and entered the recording studio of Cecil Semple and stole several cameras, cordless micro phones, video cassettes and DVD discs, together valued $1,123,100.

Forde before pleading to the charge had asked the court how much time he would get if he confessed. The magistrate, however, told him that at the time of sentencing she will decide.
