The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) in condemning the wanton slaughter of so many innocent persons, including infants at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara during the early morning hours of yesterday, called on the government to immediately find the source of the slaughter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The CIOG in a press release also called on the security forces “to prevent any recurrence of this heinous crime.”
“This loss of innocent lives sends a serious message of terror to a community that has been living peacefully with their families,” the CIOG stated.
Meanwhile, the Islamic organization is also asking all Guyanese to remain calm and to make a special prayer for all those who have suffered, and the body extended its deepest sympathy to all the relatives of those who suffered in the senseless slaughter.
