Cabinet assents to LEAP, sea defence contracts

Cabinet gave the “go-ahead” for three contracts in two sectors when it met at the Office of the President on Tuesday.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, in the finance sector, a contract valued $24,442,197 was green-lighted for the Linden Economic Advancement Programme to build a demonstration farm building at Moblissa, Region 10.

Also, in the public works sector, major contracts were agreed for sea defence works in Region Three: a contract valued $33,228,000 for the provision of scour protection works at Henrietta, Leguan and one valued at $73,422,350 for the construction of 150m rip-rap river defences at Orangestein, East Bank Essequibo.
