One ganja trafficking accused remanded, another granted bail

One man was remanded and another placed on $80,000 bail when they appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive–Hamilton on separate charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Twenty-six-year-old Troy Rodrigues of 13 Sixth Avenue, Bartica allegedly had in his possession on June 5, fifteen grammes of cannabis. Rodrigues represented by attorney-at-law Peter Hugh pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Meanwhile Clairmont Noel Corneil of Victory Valley, Linden allegedly had in his possession on May 5, thirty-five grammes of cannabis. He also pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Rodrigues was placed on $80,000 bail and he has to return to court on July 8 at Bartica while Corneil was remanded and he has to return to court at Christianburg on June 18.
