Fire advisory board to report on inspections

After recent inspections of six fire stations, the Guyana Fire Advisory Board (GFAB) is due to report its evaluations to the Minister of Home Affairs recommending measures that can be taken to ensure the needs of the Guyana Fire Service and communities are addressed.

An inspection in progress (GFAB photo)A release from the GFAB said that over the past month, it has inspected fire stations in Ogle, Timehri, Campbellville, Alberttown, West Ruimveldt and Central Georgetown. The findings from these inspections are to be evaluated and a report along with recommendations will be prepared.

Clinton Urling, Chairman of the GFAB, along with other members is responsible for providing the Minister of Home Affairs with advice regarding fire safety/prevention issues and to consider and pronounce on appeals raised by property owners or occupiers.
