Grandmother, expectant father in family skirmish

A grandmother and an expectant father who assaulted and wounded each other were ordered to pay court costs after they refused to offer evidence against each other.

And the expectant father, Oliver Stout, was placed on $15,000 bail for assaulting and wounding the husband of the grandmother when  they all appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court. Juleann Clarke, 34,  of 101 South Turkeyen, Sophia pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously assaulting and wounding Oliver Stout, 37,  causing him actual bodily harm. Stout of 14 Lombard Street also pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously assaulting and wounding Julean Clarke causing her actual bodily harm. However, he pleaded not guilty to using threatening language against her.

Meanwhile, Stout also pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously assaulting and wounding the grandmother’s husband Eustace Clarke causing him actual bodily harm.

According to reports, on September 1 at Robb Street the trio assaulted each other.
Juleann Clarke stated that Stout did not want to take responsibility for her daughter’s pregnancy and on August 31, she was on her way to visit her daughter in the hospital when he told her that he didn’t want her around the mother of his child.
When she refused to heed his warnings, he told her to go over to his house for sexual intercourse and an argument erupted.
Juleann Clarke said further that the following day Stout attempted to cuff her but the punch missed and hit her husband instead. She then took off her slippers and pelted Stout with them. However, Stout said he did not assault Juleann Clarke at the hospital. He said he had rebuked her as she was a religious ‘sister’ and should not have been carrying on in that despicable way.  He admitted telling her to go home with him for intercourse since she was behaving like his “woman”. He said he then left the hospital. However, the next day, he said, Juleann and her husband went to his workplace on Robb Street and assaulted him. He said the woman hit him with a helmet and while she was attempting to hit him again with it, he retaliated and swung a punch at her but instead hit her husband on his jaw when he stepped in the way. After hearing the matter, the magistrate entered not guilty pleas for both Juleann and Stout. However, since they were not desirous of offering any evidence against each other she ordered that Juleann pay costs of $2,000 while Oliver pay $3,000.

In the matter of Yustus Clarke accidentally receiving the punch from Stout, the magistrate placed the defendant on $15,000 bail and ordered that he return to court on October 14.
