‘Simply different store’ celebrates with donations

The “Simply Different” store, John Lewis Styles in celebrating its 5th anniversary donated $100,000 cash to each of five non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at a presentation ceremony yesterday at the store’s Lamaha Street location.

“We recognize the hard work and dedication each organization exhibits on all projects and we are pleased to be associated with their efforts. This donation highlights our social and ethical responsibilities to society in being a good corporate citizen,” said John Lewis in his address to the representatives of the NGOs at the presentation.

The representatives of the NGOs present were  Lynette Carter who collected the cash donation on behalf of the Guyana Relief Council, Doris Lewis on behalf of NCN Radio’s Needy Children’s Fund, Stacy Johnson on behalf of the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre and Rock Beharry for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Georgetown. No representative from Kids First Fund was on hand.
