Boy in New Garden St accident dies

Thirteen-year-old Kevin Marshall who was hit down by a vehicle belonging to the National Communica-tions Network (NCN) died on Monday night while still in an unconscious state in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Marshall of 123 Regent Street, Bourda was hit on Sunday evening shortly after 7 pm while riding his bicycle along New Garden Street along with a friend.

He sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to the GPHC. He was taken to St Joseph Mercy Hospital for a CAT scan and upon his return to GPHC the youth was put in the ICU where he remained until he died.

When Stabroek News visited the hospital on Monday afternoon the youth’s relatives had gathered outside the ICU awaiting their turn to see him. Marshal’s aunt said then that the family could not sleep since they had heard of the young man’s death and were hoping against all odds that he would wake up again. He never did.
