Pedal, motor cyclists hospitalized after accidents

A pedal cyclist and a motor cyclist were both taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) for treatment after they were involved in separate road accidents last evening.

Denesh Bissoon, 29, of 211 Eccles East, Bank, Demerara sustained injuries to his head and lacerations about the body after his motor cycle CD 3737 collided with motor car PLL 714 at the corners of Vlissengen and South Road. According to an eyewitness who brought the injured man to the hospital, the car was coming from South road about to turn into Vlissengen and the bike was heading south on Vlissengen when they collided. The man said he is not sure who breached the lights or even if they were working.

Meanwhile Deo Budhu, 50, of Mon Repos  sustained a broken leg and lacerations after he was hit by a car on the Houston Public road.

According to the driver of the car, who transferred the youth to the hospital, he was heading north with the intention of turning onto the “back road,” when two bicycles dashed across the path of his car; Boyce was hit.
Both of the injured parties were up to press time receiving treatment.
