Canada immigration fees payable in Canadian bank drafts only

The High Commission of Canada said that from January 1 payment of immigration processing fees will only be accepted by bank drafts in Canadian dollars.

According to a press release payment by certified instrument in Guyana dollars will no longer be accepted. “All bank drafts must be in Canadian dollars payable to the ‘High Commission of Canada’ and not the ‘Canadian High Commission’ or ‘Receiver General for Canada,’” the release said.

The processing fees for temporary resident visas remain the same: single entry, Cdn$75; multiple entry, Cdn$150; family rate, Cdn$400. The High Commission said its hours of service for the Immigration Section are Monday to Thursday from 8.30 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 3.30 pm. On Fridays the hours are 8.30 am to 12 pm.
