Third accused in court for ‘Mango Man’ murder

Sherwin NeroA 22-year-old Buxton-Friendship man was the third accused to be remanded when he appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle for the murder of ‘Mango Man’ at Cove and John last year.

Sherwin Nero, called Sherwin Moses or Patti of 54 Buxton-Friendship, was not required to plead to the indictable charge. He is the third accused to be brought to court for the murder of Kumar Singh, called ‘Mango Man’, which occurred on August 30, 2007 at Cove and John, East Coast Demerara.
Durwin Wright, called ‘Rock Away’ of Vigilance South, East Coast Demerara was charged with the same murder on February 19, while 18-year-old Andrew Philander, called ‘Junior’ and ‘Gadget’ of 54 Middle Walk, Buxton, was also charged on February 25. These two have since made several appearances at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs and are due to make another appearance on June 11.

Nero’s matter was also transferred to the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court for June 11.
