GPL sets up Commercial and Emergency Call Centres

The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) has set up a new Customer Commercial Call Centre  at its head office on Main Street and a  Centralised Emergency Call Centre at the Sophia Complex with the aim of enhancing the quality of its customer service.

The former is manned by six telephone customer service representatives who are on standby to receive calls on a daily basis from customers and assist them on issues such as billing, queries, balance, disconnection and reconnection enquiries, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.  It said that customers can therefore access the Commercial Call Centre from  their homes or offices and avoid visiting the main commercial office.

It will be opened  Monday to Friday from  8 am to 9 pm  and 8 am to midday on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Call Centre at Sophia which will replace all calls formerly received at the Garden of Eden, West Demerara, Kingston, Sophia and Victoria locations will be manned by emergency call representatives who will dispatch them to the particular emergency crew.

GINA quoted a GPL release as saying that “The new and improved services being offered by GPL are expected to provide better customer satisfaction.

The company is committed to enhancing its customer services at all levels and these two call centres are evidence of our determination to provide our customers with a much improved quality of service.”
