With regards to comments on the distribution of funds for scrutineers of the voter registration process, fair play dictates that the small opposition parties should receive a “fair share” of the $50 million appropriated to the combined opposition.
I think the opposition parties should receive an amount of funds in proportion to the seats obtained (or better yet the percentage votes received out of the total opposition votes).
Once this matter is settled, the opposition parties can work on reaching an agreement on how they will divide up the work that needs to be done in “scrutinizing” the accuracy of the registration process and the voters’ list. In this way, all the parties would have played an important role in the scrutinizing process and no party can complain that the new voters’ list is problematic.
Right now, if parties are denied funding and are not part of the scrutinizing process, problems lie ahead in accepting the list.
