I am amazed that after such a brutal attack on innocent women and children in which 11 lives were flushed out Mafia style, our President is asking residents to form Community Policing Groups to protect themselves. This leaves one to believe that the current administration has no clue or plan in place to deal with this sort of high profile crime committed by hardened criminals who have shown they are capable of doing what they want, where they want and when they want.
What concerns me most is to read the following statements made by the President, “the security forces are all we can rely on presently” although he and all of us are aware they have failed miserably to apprehend wanted men and “the international community is all talk and no action,” hence we should not expect assistance. This leaves me to suggest that it’s time the government hire a Private Military Contractor(PMC)to eliminate these criminal elements from the society and train the appropriate personnel to establish a Swat Team.
Various private militaries can be found at www.privatemilitary.org and they offer services varying from basic security to elite combat units made up of former US, UK, German and South African Elite soldiers. Private militaries were hired to stop the bloodshed and return the reins of the country to the government of Sierra Leone. They were also hired by the Pentagon and are currently providing valuable assistance to allied troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
A long term plan would be to amend the constitution (if legally required ) to allow bounty hunting. If this is done we can review and certify private entities that possess the required expertise, they can then be hired to capture wanted men and prison escapees while our uniformed officers continue their day to day activities, the army will then be able to completely focus on monitoring the borders.
