Happy with new website but please change this logo

Dear Editor,

It was a pleasant surprise when I checked your website and experienced your new design for the first time. The site is  attractive and extremely functional. The designer has managed to present lots of information in an attractive, easy to read and intuitive interface. After a few minutes of pleasurable browsing around on your site I decided to visit the sites of newspapers and other news organizations in the region and internationally. Stabroek News in my estimation was the best designed of all the sites I visited including high fliers such as CNN and BBC.

Congratulations to your web design team and I hope they keep up the good work.

However, I have one criticism. It seems that Stabroek News has endorsed Firefox as their browser of choice. While I have no issue with that (being a Firefox faithful myself)  an image is displayed that seems to be the “Firefox logo” altered to show the fox biting an ‘E’ resembling the logo of Internet Explorer. While I agree with the message it shows poor taste to display this image on your site, and can send a negative message to the world on the ethics of the businesses in Guyana.
Yours faithfully,
Neo Anderson

Editor’s note
We note your point and will immediately change the somewhat aggressive logo now in use to a standard Firefox logo.
