Dear Editor,
On behalf of a resident of the Rupununi Savannah, I visited GBTI Head Office in Water Street in order to deposit G$50,000 in cash. The resident has a GBTI account. To my surprise GBTI requested a charge of G$1,000 for such transaction.
Of course GBTI customers agree to the rules of the bank when they open an account. However, to punish customers living in the Rupununi with such charges, is nothing other than GBTI exploiting its monopoly in the area.
