Adonis re-elected GRFU President

Current General Secretary of the Guyana Football Federation Noel Adonis has been re-elected to serve yet another term as president of the Guyana Rugby Football

Union (GRFU) following the Annual General meeting held last Sunday.

After being rescheduled quite a few times, the AGM finally took place Sunday last at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club, Albert and Thomas Streets and was convened by a returning officer of the executive body Marcel Adonis.

Adonis told Stabroek Sport yesterday, “I am pleased to be elected to this prestigious office since it reflects the union’s confidence in me for the years of service that I have given,” he said.

Adonis also added that the GRFU intends to continue focusing on the development programmes and other positive initiatives that he had begun during his last term in office.

In what will be Adonis’s ninth term as president of the GRFU, he noted that he would be placing a lot of emphasis on putting structures in place to strengthen development programmes at the youth level.

While the new executive committee of the GRFU still consists of long serving officers who have either been re-elected or promoted to their respective offices, there are also officers who will be serving their first terms on the executive body.

Such persons are: Public Relations Officer Andrew Sam, Assistant Secretary/Trea-surer Charles Greaves and Junior Vice President Peter Campaign.

The entire executive committee members are as follows: President Noel Adonis, Senior Vice President Robin Roberts, Junior Vice President Peter Cam-paign, Secretary Curtis Jacobs, Tre-asurer Leonardo Butcher, Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer Charles Greaves, Public Relations Offi-cer Andrew Sam along with Conrad Arjoon, Clinton Clarke, Roxanne Alleyne who will serve as regular committee members.
