Haniff, Cush Nagamootoo strike form in T/dad

Former Guyana left-handed opening batsman Azeemul Haniff struck form over the weekend to lead Clico Preysal to a draw against Alescon Comets in the Eastern Credit Union league in Trinidad .

Batting first Preysal made 137 all out with Hannif getting 33. Comets replied with 184 all out taking a first innings lead of 47 runs. Batting a second time Preysal made 302 for six declared with Hannif hitting an even 50.

Down Central, it was the Lennox Cush and Mahendra Nagamootoo show. Defence Force made 168 all out with leg-spinner Nagamootoo claiming 6-74. Cush then scored 51 as Central Sports replied with 272 all out. Defence Force made an identical 168 in their second innings, as Cush grabbed 2-22. Set 65 to win, Central Sports reached 66-2 to claim the win.

Veteran off-spinning all-rounder Neil McGarrell did not enjoy a good round, as he was below par in his team’s Ceramic Merryboys draw against Clarke Road.

McGarrell failed to score in his team’s 188 all out and then picked up one for 42, as Clarke Road made 147 in reply. Merryboys were 71/7 in their second innings, when the match ended in a draw.

In division II, Vishal Arjune turned bowler but his team Joe Public Invaders still lost out on first innings. Invaders batted first and scored 250 all out with Arjune getting 23. Endeavour Sports in reply made 357 with Arjune taking 3/105.
