Ferreira-James bound for Beijing

Guyana’s leading female football referee Diane Ferreira-James is Beijing bound following her appointment by FIFA, football’s world governing body to officiate at the forthcoming Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Ferreira-James was chosen along with several other female referees from CONCACAF, the Confederation of Central and North America and the Caribbean Football Union to the panel of referees to officiate in the Games billed to kick off in August.
The well-decorated local referee was chosen along with Kari Seitz of the United States and Trinidad and Tobago’s Shane DeSilva, while the assistant referees named are Lynda Bramble and Cindy Mohammed of the Twin Island Republic, Marlene Duffy and Veronica of the USA and Rita Munoz and Isabel Maria Tovar of Mexico.

Ferreira-James officiated in many international tournaments including the Women’s World Cup finals.
