Prasahd wins Vish Trading medal play tourney

Club captain Patrick Prashad won his second title for 2008 when he came out victorious in Saturday’s Vish Trading medal play tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course.

He had recently won the DeSinco Trading tournament.

Dr. Ramsingh, with a handicap of 18 continued his impressive form finishing second after securing a net 70 from a gross 88, while Mike Guyadin was third with 71 points from a gross 88 playing with a handicap of 17.

Dinanauth Mohanlall won the Nearest to the Pin Medal.
Vice President of Lusignan Golf Club, Brian Hackett, who spoke on behalf of the sponsors Vish Trading, apologised for the absence of Managing Director Prabhudyal Ramdial, but disclosed that Vish Trading Heavy duty equipment dealers of Le Ressouvenir had expressed a commitment to sponsor future tournaments.

LGC President, Mel Sankies, thanked the sponsors for their support and noted that the golfers can expect a hectic month in May.

This weekend, the LGC will stage a medal play club tournament starting at 12:30 hours.

There will also be three major tournaments sponsored by furniture giants Courts, Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) and Scotia Bank.

Meanwhile, the Club Executive Committee at its last meeting appointed Troy Peters to serve as Public Relations Officer for the 2008 term.
