(Lawrence Fanfair photo)After two rounds in the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) National Race of Champions 16-year old Christopher Mc Lean led the 125cc Motor Cycle class by four points ahead of his competitors.

Mc Lean won two of the three scheduled six-lap events and finished second in the other behind Charles Henry this past Sunday at the South Dakota Circuit.
Hats off to his team of mechanics and coach (his father) for a job well done thus far, he said in an interview with Stabroek Sport.

Speaking on the defeat in the final race on Sunday, he said Henry passed him fairly, though he was having some gear shifting trouble which caused him to lose a few seconds and also his exhaust fell off.

“The falling-off of the exhaust gave me a hard time to catch him (Henry) back, but the possibility existed of me sweeping all three races,” he said said.

Prior to the race he had a knee injury so he tried nothing new and his normal strategy of game play did it for him.
He is looking forward to the final round later this year to become the overall winner in his designated class.
