Mangal looking to make it two in a row

The New GPC Inc. will sponsor Saturday’s Medal Play Golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course.
With most of the golfers showing top form, another exciting day of golfing is anticipated.

Former Guyana Open champion Mike Mangal, winner of last weekend’s Sunburst Orange Juice Medal Play tournament sponsored Continental Group of Companies will be looking to make it two in a row but will be hard pressed by a top field.

Among the other top contenders are Ian Gouveia, Parick Prashad, Esau Shamshudin, Chatterpaul Deo, Colin Ming, Imran Khan, Lester Alvis, Joann Deo, Carlos Adams, Melissa Humphrey, Ronald Bulkhan, Avinda Kishore, Bolaram Deo, Dr. Ram Singh, Jorge Medina, Alfred Mentore and Albert Semple.

New GPC Inc. Marketing Manager Trevor Bassoo is expected to present the prizes to the top performers at the end of the tournament.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers as well as Closest to the Pin.
Registration will close on Friday at 16:00 hours and interested players can register by calling the bar at telephone number 220-5660.

Assembly time is 12:20 for a briefing before the actual Tee off at 12:30 hours.
Club captain Jerome Khan did indicate last Saturday that the next few weeks will be hectic for the golfers as five tournaments will be played off in succession. Officials of the Lusignan Golf Club are also fine tuning preparations for the Annual Guyana Open championships slated for November.

This year’s event is expected to attract players from United States, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.
