Neal and Massy tapeball competition

Defending champions AINLIM/NMSL will clash with NM Security Solutions (NMSS) in the final of the Neal and Massy Inter-Company 20-over tapeball cricket competition tomorrow evening under floodlights at Thirst Park ground.

AINLIM/NMSL who have dominated the tournament for the past five years will be looking to capture their sixth title in as many years but NMSS will be out to stop their reign this time round.

AINLIM/NMSL advanced to the final with a convincing 40-run win over N&M Berbice Branch in their semi-final encounter played last weekend at the Guyana Softball Cricket Association ground.

Batting first AINLIM/NMSL rattled up 115 off their allotted 15 overs with the in-form Harold Baboolal top scoring with 49 which included three sixes and three fours.

Mohamed Saffie supported with 30.

Bowling for Berbice, Peter Sangster was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 26.

Saffie returned with the ball to bag four wickets for three runs including a hat-trick as Berbice were bundled out for 75 in reply. Mark Singh took 3 for 24 and Jeremy Amos 2 for 8 for the winners.

In the other semi-final encounter NMSS scored a nine-wicket win over Geddes Grant ‘B’.

Batting first, Geddes Grant were bowled out for 89 off 14-2 overs and NMSS knocked off the required wins  for the loss of one wicket with wicketkeeper-batsman Delbert Hudson top scoring with 33.

AINLIM/NMSL has shortlisted a 14-man squad for the final led by Ashraf Ali and will include Kishon Gorakh, Rodnew McDonald, Baboolal, Singh, Lakhan Mohamed, Mohan Ram, Jeremy Amos, Navin Persaud, Dhanraj Dookie, Junior Sam, Rommel Veersammy and Dhanieram Sookra.

NMSS will be captained by Devendra Shivjattan and will include Delbert Hutson, Kenneth Nurse, Mark Smith, Frank Belle, Errol Levans, Clyde Layne, Harry Tiwari, Dannyram Ramkissoon, Orin Simon, Gavendra Joree, Lyndon Austin and Cladio Elias.
