United Brothers wreck Young Warriors

United Brothers sailed to an easy win against Young Warriors in the Guyana Softball League (GSL) organized Memorex Enterprise Country-Wide Softball Tournament this past Sunday at the Perseverance Ground.
In the Essequibo zone of the tourney United Brothers Sports Club defeated Young Warriors by a massive 89 runs in a high scoring encounter. United Brothers Sports Club batted and got to a mammoth 239-3 in 15 overs with a brilliant 142 by Jermaine Trotman 142 who slammed thirteen sixes.

He received support from Shannon Jagmohan who contributed 76 for United Brothers while Haseeb Mohamed grabbed 2-37 for Young Warriors before they began their unsuccessful reply.
They could only get to 150-6 from 15 overs against the attack of Gopaul Deen and Anil Durga 2-32 and 2-33 respectively even as Khalid Baskh put up some resistance with 54.

Electronics XI then got the better of Young Guns Sports Club by 10 wickets. Young Guns Sports Club batted first and scored 148-7 from 15 overs, Romain Singh made 46 and received support from Ronald Surupjeet (40) while Latchman Rohit and Pradeep Chowtie both bagged 3-20 for Electronics. Rohit and Navendra Persaud who were left unbeaten on 86 and 53 respectively got Electronics to with 149-0 in 12 overs.
Reliance Sports Club defeated Richmond Youths Sports Club by four wickets at Richmond ground. Richmond Youths batted first scoring 148-8 from 15 overs, Ramzan Rasul top scored with 48 while Dayton Chaitram and Navendra Doodnauth both took 2-37. Reliance in reply made 152-6 from 14 overs to go home victorious.
Colunbia and Die Hard gained walkovers from Jaguars XI and Uprising XI respectively.
Two matches were contested at the Den Amstel ground, Avenash XI drew with Superstreets then Avenash were overpowered by Hydronie Sports Club.

In the noon encounter Avenash XI and Superstreet played to tie in a thrilling encounter. Avenash XI batted first and scored 149-9 in their 15 overs with Claytus Azeem top scoring with 39 while Brahma Bhowandat claimed 3-1. Superstreet made 149-9 in their 15 overs.

In Avenash XI’s second match lost to Hydronie Sports Club by four wickets. Avenash XI won the toss and batted scoring a challenging 183-6 from 15 overs but Hydronie were up to the task and reached the target in 12.3 overs.
In other results at the Leonora ground Ruimzeight Sports Club defeated Skyline XI by 48 runs. Ruimzeight Sports Club batted first scored 115-9 in 15 overs then bundled Skyline out for a measly 67 in 8.5 overs.
Shattazville XI defeated Superstreet by two wickets. Superstreet XI batted first and reached a paltry 92 all out in 11.2 overs then struggled but fought their way to 93-8 from 14.5 overs for the victory.

Rockets XI defeated Street Boys XI by five wickets at the Providence ground, Street Boys XI won the toss and batted managing only 80 11.2 overs.   Rocket XI encountered some trouble in their reply but got to 82-5 in 12.5 overs to record a victory.
Street Boys XI then got a walkover from Banks DIH XI.
