RHTYSC 10/10 competition

Bermine, Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB), Port Mourant, Young Warriors and Albion Cricket Clubs all recorded victories in first round matches of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club Cricket Development Committee organized/Ansa Mc Al-sponsored 10/10 cricket competition on Wednesday.

Highlights of the first round were the innings of Farouk Hussein who scored the first half century and the bowling of Krisendat Ramoo who got the first hat-trick in this form of cricket whilst Blairmont Community Centre failed to show up for their encounter against Police at Cumberland.

At Albion, not even Ramoo’s hat-trick though, could prevent West Berbice from going under to Bermine by one run in the first game of the day at that venue.

Bermine batted first and was restricted to 74-7 with Devon Clements 17, Maxie de Jonge, 14, and Eugene La Fleur 11 being the only batsmen to reach double figures.

Ramoo took the wickets of La Fleur, Andrew Williams and Joemal La Fleur, to complete his hat-trick. He ended with 4-8.
In reply, West Berbice raced to 42 without loss from five overs with Kenje Sedoc making 24.
They, however, lost wickets rapidly and the equation was 21 runs from three overs. They eventually fell short of by one run to hand Bermine a come-from-behind victory.

At Cumberland, Young Warriors defeated Rose Hall Canje by 10 wickets in their encounter which was switched from the Rose Hall Canje ground due to rain.

Rose Hall Canje won the toss, batted and were held to 94-8 with Sasenarine Sookdeo, 38 and Romesh Munna, 14, the principal scorers.
Richard Ramdeen grabbed 4-15 and Balram Samaroo, 3-16.

Farouk Hussein struck a blazing unbeaten 66 which was decorated with six sixes and four fours, whilst Ramdeen struck three fours in his unbeaten 18.

In the feature game at that venue, Blairmont Community Centre failed to make an appearance for their encounter with Police, thus guaranteeing the lawmen an easy path into the next round.

At Area ‘H’ ground, Rose Hall, the home team RHTWSB completed a 53-run victory over Kildonan. whilst Port Mourant scored an eight-wicket victory over Scottsburg in the feature match.

In the first game, RHTWSB sent in rattled up 117-2 with Assad Fudadin making 45 and Renwick Batson 40.
