This game was originally scheduled to be played last Sunday at the Rose Hall Canje ground, but due to heavy rain the previous afternoon, the outfield was left in a soggy and unfit state for cricket and even though Young Warriors indicated  to the umpires that they were willing to play, Bermine chose not to do so , hence today’s encounter.

Bermine advanced to the zone final, following an emphatic victory over Berbice powerhouse Albion Com-munity Centre, whilst Young Warriors had to survive a scare from Port Mourant in their semi final clash to advance.

La Fleur will be relying heavily on the services of Maxie De Jonge, Andrew Williams, Julian Moore, Jamally Odle and Devon Clements to pull off another upset, thus repeating their performance against Albion.

On the other hand, Young Warriors will be having other ideas in mind and with a powerful batting line up led by the explosive Farouk Hussain at the top, with amicable support from former West Indies under-19 batsmen Richard Ramdeen and Gajanand Singh. Add skipper Paul Wintz, Waheid Edwards, Kwesi Maltay, national under-19 all rounder Seon Hetmyer, Ishwar Singh along with Balram Samaroo to the fray, and fans can expect an exciting match up at the venue.

Meanwhile the winner of this encounter will take on the Demerara Zone runners-up Mavericks at Blairmont in the second national semi-final. The first semi-final is fixed for next Saturday at the Anna Regina ground in Essequibo, between South Essequibo who are the Essequibo champions and Demerara Cricket Club, the Demerara champs.
