Meanwhile, officials of the Lusignan Golf Club are fine tuning preparations for the Guyana Open championships and are likely to announce this year’s sponsors and competing players shortly.
The annual event will take place from November 15-16 at Lusignan and already several players from the United States, Canada, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago have expressed an interest in competing.

Last year US-based Guyanese Jai Paul emerged winner of the men’s competition while Guyana’s Christine Sukhram retained her women’s title.
