Dyna’s Embroidery/Carib Super 7 Tapeball competition

National all-rounder Christopher Barnwell and his Trophy Stall team-mate Shaheed Gittens starred with the bat for Trophy Stall XI as action in the Dyna’s Embroidery/Carib Super 7 tapeball competition got underway at the National Park tarmac yesterday.

Competing in the fourth match of the day against Enmore 7, Trophy Stall XI made 115 from their six overs.

Gittens, 53 and Barnwell 47, were the principal scorers.

Enmore 7 were restricted to 83 all out in reply.

In other games played, Farnum Strikers, which included Steven Jacobs, Shemroy Barrington, Kellon Carmichael and Travis Blyden, defeated Super 7 led by Dion Ferrier by 15 runs.

Batting first, Farnum Strikers scored 60 and returned to bowl out Super 7 for 45.

Newton All Stars was also in winners’ row when they defeated Dark Knight by 44 runs. Batting first, Newton all Stars scored 80 from their six overs.

It was a dark day for Dark Knight who fell for 36 in reply.

Hand-in Hand found the going tough when they faced Outlaw and lost by five runs. Outlaw took first strike and scored 54 from their quota of overs. They then returned and held Hand-in Hand to 49 all out to complete victory.

Lusignan 7, Ocean XI and Hill Foot Stars also completed victories in their encounters over West Side Warriors, Young Warriors and Cardinals 7 respectively.

The competition will conclude this Sunday at the same venue from 0900hrs.

Over 32 teams entered the tournament which has an attractive first prize of $70,000 and a trophy, along with other individual prizes.
