Salon stylists across the Caribbean will soon pull out the hot combs, flat irons, pieces and hair products and their God-given talents when Shabeau Magazine presents Style Off ’08, the hair show and battle that is being touted as the biggest ever in the region.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the magazine’s Fashion Editor, Kofi Branch said interested hair stylists need to enter their creations now in order to be chosen to represent their respective countries at the show slated for April 19 at the Sherbourne Conference Centre in Barbados.
The prize package includes US$1,500, a championship trophy and bragging rights for a year, Branch said. A feature spread in the magazine is also included. To enter persons are asked to submit information on their business in addition to pictures of a cut and colour style and a natural hair design by February 28. An avant garde work (pushing the known boundaries of acceptable art sometimes with revolutionary, cultural, or political implications) is what the producers of the show are expecting.
A processing fee of US$30 is also required.
