A 20-member team will be representing Guyana at the 15th Goodwill Championships which begin tomorrow in Barbados.
At a press conference yesterday it was announced that 16 swimmers and four officials will depart Guyana today in what will be the largest contingent since the inception of the games.

National coach Nicholas Fraser says the swimmers are getting better since many of them have attained the qualifying times for the championships.
“Since 1995 when the championships started this is the first time so many swimmers got the required times and that shows that we have made progress,” Fraser said.

Meanwhile, GSA’s Karen Pilgrim says the association was at least half a million dollars out of pocket and was still seeking assistance through sponsors.
“Right now we are at least half a million dollars in debt.”
