The security guard was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of murder and the case was later transferred to Court Three for November 30.
It is alleged that on October 8, he murdered Marvin Smith.
Rodney’s lawyer briefly gave his client’s antecedents shortly before the accused was escorted out of the court by a policeman.

Prosecutor Kevin London had stated that Smith is alleged to be a ‘junkie’.  He said that on October 5, Smith had gone into Rodney’s yard and was seen cutting up some marijuana.
He noted that when Rodney told him not to do that in his yard Smith became annoyed and did not cease.

He said that Rodney then chased Smith out of the yard but the man returned shortly after with a broken glass bottle that he used to threaten Rodney.

The prosecutor stated  that Rodney then dealt Smith several cuffs to his head which caused him to collapse in an unconscious state.

He said that Smith was later taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted but died on October 8.
