Sisters robbed by gunmen in South Ruimveldt

Bandits stormed a South Ruimveldt home yesterday and attacked two elderly women home on holiday, holding them at gunpoint before escaping with cash and jewellery.

Police said last night in a statement that the two men entered the home at Toucan Drive through an open door around 1 pm yesterday and confronted Majority Kriger, age 70 years, and her sister, Rita Alphonso, age 64.

The bandits snatched 3,000 pounds sterling; $40,000 and two silver chains then fled the scene. Police are investigating.
