Bent St man shot during argument

A 31-year-old man was shot just before midnight on Old Year’s Night  by someone he reportedly had an argument with over narcotics, according to a release from the police.

The police said they are investigating an incident that occurred at about 11.15pm on December 31, 2008 where Kelvin Barker of Bent Street, Wortmanville, was shot and injured.

According to the release it has been revealed that earlier Barker and another man had an argument which was “suspected” to involve narcotics. Later that night, Baker was standing on Hardina Street when the man drove up in a motor car along with two other men and shot him in his right foot. The men then escaped in the motor vehicle.

Barker was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment.
