22 Guyanese playing as pros in Trinidad

A total of 22 Guyana-born players are currently playing as professional cricketers in the domestic cricket leagues in Trinidad and Tobago.

With the domestic scene in T&T quickly advancing to the professional stage those players are already enjoying good salaries to compete in the national Premiership and Championship Divisions North and South.

This season,  31 players from across the region have signed up to play with the top 32 teams in that country.

West Indies skipper Chris Gayle heads the list as he is attached to Ishan Invaders Sports.
The most prominent Guyanese players around the leagues are Mahendra Nagamootoo, Azeemul Hanif, Krishna Arjune and Neil Williams.

Second vice-president of the T&T Cricket Board, Leo Doodnath has welcomed the move to have the Guyanese players in the domestic league as, according to him, it helps with the professionalism.
