A footballer who is accused of attempting to rape a woman was remanded to prison yesterday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Twenty-one-year-old Nicholas Sancho of David Street, Kitty, was not required to plead to the indictable charge of attempted rape.
It is alleged that on January 20 at David Street, Kitty, Sancho attempted to have carnal knowledge of a female without her consent.
The magistrate subsequently ordered that Sancho be remanded to prison and that he appear again in court on February 6.
