A gunman pounced on an East Coast Demerara woman and her two teenage daughters yesterday, robbing them of their jewellery and sexually assaulting one of the girls before escaping.
Police said that the three were at a home at Foulis, when the man stormed in and held them at gunpoint around 11:30 am. The man grabbed the jewellery the woman and her daughters were wearing at the time then locked the mother and one of the girls away in a room.
The gunman sexually assaulted the other girl, after which he fled the premises, a police press release said last night.
