Cultural group promoting Guyanese art forms

The Guyana United Artists (GUA) plans to set up cultural outposts in Brazil and other South American countries to facilitate marketing of Guyanese art forms.

According to a press release GUA is the umbrella organisation for Artists in the Visual, Performing and Literary Arts which aims to promote and market Guyanese diverse creative art forms in the Caribbean and further a field.

The GUA hosted GuyArtFiesta in 2007 and 2008 which attracted participants from across the country. The group also participated in Carifesta X last year.

According to the release the GUA executives are Linden Jemmott, Trevor Thornhill and Desmond Alli who function as president, vice president and general secretary, respectively.
