Salesman put on bond over larceny of Euros

A salesman yesterday pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on February 25th at Georgetown, 29-year-old Junior Martin of 165 James Street, Albouystown stole from Allison Hunte  $100 Euros, equivalent to $26,000 GYD.

Martin insisted that he never stole any money from the virtual complainant (VC), but decided nevertheless to repay her since he wanted to finish the matter. Upon receiving the money, the VC told the court that she would no longer offer any evidence against the defendant.

Martin was later ordered to pay $5,000 in court costs and he was placed on a bond to keep the peace for two years.
