Man dies after hitting head on overhanging branch

Mark Boyal, according to a police press release, died at approximately 5 pm that day at Buck Hall Backdam, Essequibo. The man, police reported, was working on an excavating machine when an “overhanging limb of a tree” struck him to the head. As a result of the impact Boyal fell from the vehicle.

He was taken to the Suddie Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The man’s body was brought to Georgetown where a post-mortem examination (PME) conducted by Dr Nehaul Singh revealed that he died from a fractured skull.
