Minibus conductor put on self-bail after explanation over disorderly behaviour charge

A 24-year-old minibus conductor was yesterday placed on self-bail after he pleaded guilty with explanation to a charge of disorderly behaviour.
initially pleaded guilty and offered the court an explanation when he was Kester Rodney of 18 Silver City, Wismar, Linden appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with behaving disorderly on March 21 in Georgetown.

But after pleading guilty he told the court: “My Worship, some boys de playing cards on de park and when dey see de police coming dey run away an I keep standing up there.

“After dey run away, de police come an ask me how come me ain’t run with them to, suh I tell dem me ain’t do nothing wrong suh wah I running fuh. An den after duh, dey arrest me fuh behaving disorderly, but me ain’t behave disorderly my Worship.”

The magistrate then entered a not-guilty plea for Rodney, placed him on self-bail and ordered that he attend Court Six on April 3.
