Help and Shelter crisis centre reopening Monday

The Crisis Service Centre which was closed last December following a fire will re-open its doors to the public on Monday after receiving $3M from government to cover the necessary repairs.

A press release from Help & Shelter last evening said that the Centre which is located on Homestretch Avenue, D’Urban Park will be re-opened owing to government’s financial help towards the rewiring and repairing of the office.

The fire occurred on December 28 last.

All counselling services will now be provided at the Homestretch Avenue office.

“Help & Shelter is most grateful to the government, other organizations/agencies, the private sector and individuals for continued support for the work that the organization does to support victims of abuse and reduce all forms of violence in Guyana”, the release added.
