DIRECTV to bring world championship boxing tomorrow night

‘Winky’ Wright (51-4-1, 25Kos) will take on Paul Williams (36-1-0 27 KOs) in the main event tomorrow night and  DIRECTV customers can catch live coverage starting at 10:00 PM ET from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada on HBO channel 524.

Former undisputed junior middleweight champion, ‘Winky’ Wright, will be returning  to the ring for the first time since his ambitious 2007 challenge of  hall-of-famer, Bernard Hopkins. Wright, according to the statement, solidified his dominance over the junior middleweight ranks with back-to-back victories over Shane Mosley and  moved up to middleweight where he scored decisive victories over Ike Quartey, Felix Trinidad, and a draw against then middleweight champ, Jermain Taylor.

Wright finally met his match when he jumped up another two weight classes to challenge Bernard Hopkins as a light heavyweight and suffered his first defeat in seven years. Now Wright returns to a more natural weight to take on an imposing young star in the making.

In the second feature all-action heavyweight, Chris Arreola (26-0-0, 23 KOs), battles rugged ring veteran, Jameel McCline (39-9-3, 23 KOs) in a 12-round NABF heavyweight fight. Arreola is a US Mexican-American regarded as one of the best American prospects in the division and is currently ranked number 10 by three of the four major governing bodies.

Jameel ‘Big Time’ McCline is notable for his size, 6 ft, 6.5 inches, and weight of around 120kg (265lb).  In his most recent bout he defeated Mike Mollo on November 7, 2008.

According to the statement, DIRECTV customers will once again get ringside seats to this event featuring two of the most avoided fighters in the sport, ‘Winky’ Wright and Paul Williams, as they meet in a 12-round middleweight clash.

Tune into HBO channel 524 from 10:00 PM ET.

Meanwhile, DIRECTV continues to provide viewers in the Caribbean with coverage of sporting events through its exclusive coverage of La Liga Spanish Football, the Golf Channel and NASCAR Hot Pass, the statement concluded.
