Currency vendor on felonious wounding charge

A 30-year-old currency vendor yesterday pleaded not guilty to the charge of felonious wounding when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on March 1 at Georgetown, Mohan Persaud of 32 CC Eccles New Scheme unlawfully and maliciously wounded Boodram Ramdat so as to cause him actual bodily harm.

Persaud was placed on $50,000 bail and his matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for June 4.
