According to the release, the president, who was also present at the outreach, told applicants that the administration is committed to the development of the housing sector and communities.

According to GINA, Chief Planning Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), Myrna Pitt noted that Parfait/Harmonie is to date the CH&PA’s largest housing scheme consisting of five phases.

She noted that many houses are constructed in the area and persons will be proud to dwell in that community when it is fully occupied. She said that the CH&PA will be preparing a Community Development Plan which will make provisions for the future development and consolidation of the community. Pitt noted that this will ensure that development takes place in an orderly manner whereby developmental decisions will take into account issues which will impact on the community and its development.

The housing initiative has been in existence for about four weeks to date and has seen in excess of 2000 transactions being processed from the two outreaches which took place in Regions Three and Six by the Ministry of Housing, the release stated.
