The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in collaboration with the Ministry of Health recently provided training in laboratory operations and management to 20 laboratory staff from across Guyana’s administrative regions, the US Embassy in Georgetown stated in a release. The training was conducted by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). And it formed part of the observance of National Laboratory Week and was conducted under the theme “Laboratory Professionals Get Results”.
The laboratory operations training provided the laboratory professionals with tools such as checklists, job aids and procedures required to perform laboratory testing to a high standard and to meet professional goals for supportive patient care through laboratory services.
